4 off september Finnish food is celebrated
On
September 4, Finnish food is celebrated. What is defining Finnish food and
Finnish food culture. On that question, there are certainly as many answers as
there are Finnish citizens, but with scientific glasses on the nose, the answer
can be a little bit easier to formulate.
-We have belonged to both Sweden and Russia for a period of our history. Finland has belonged to Sweden for over 700 years and Russia for 100 years. The Swedish food culture has characterized Finland for these 700 years and thereby given the Finnish -Swedish food culture its distinctive point on equal terms as the Russian has characterized the Finnish food culture. The common for these two food cultural camps are that it radiates in what we today refer to as our current Finnish food culture.
It is,
as I usually say: the Finnish food culture is like any other food culture in a
constant transformation, but the food cultural affiliation clings to history.
The Finnish embassies' chef are the leading players to promote Finnish food
culture internationally. Celebrate the day with respect for the Finnish raw
materials and its producers and make something tasteful with the means you have at your disposal that surprises and
satisfies the palate. Injoy the day!
